Amira Elfeky plays Sick New World at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth on Saturday, October 24, her first listed show since May after two cancelled runs this year, and three weeks before her debut album, It Was Only a Dream, arrives on November 13 via Anemoia Records and Atlantic Records.
The Amira Elfeky album has 12 tracks, according to its Apple Music pre-order page. Only one is out: the lead single “Breakdown,” released September 30. The press release for that single calls the Fort Worth set her “long-awaited return,” and the year behind her explains the phrase.
Why is Sick New World a comeback show?
Elfeky has pulled out of two tours in 2026. On February 5 she cancelled her Australian support dates with Thornhill and two headline shows there, along with dates in Japan, citing “health circumstances and challenges beyond my control.” In the statement, published in full by Metal Anarchy, she added: “I will be back, and I can't wait to perform for you.”
She did come back, for an arena run with Bring Me The Horizon. The band's spring North American leg, announced in October 2025, put her on the bill with Motionless In White and The Plot In You from April 28 in Toronto, and setlist.fm logs her sets through May 15 at Allstate Arena outside Chicago. Her Madison Square Garden slot on May 2 ran six songs, closing on “Hold Onto Me.”
Then the autumn plan fell through. She had been booked to support I Prevail, her partner on the duet “Paradise,” across 15 UK and European dates in September and October. In late August, weeks before the first show, she withdrew from the whole run, citing “unexpected logistical reasons out of our control,” Kerrang! reported, so she played none of those dates. Berlin's Velodrom, which hosted the final show on October 13, still carries the notice that her support slot “has been cancelled without replacement.” No set of hers has been logged on setlist.fm since May 15, and Fort Worth is the only upcoming date it lists.
Two cancelled runs, one arena tour in between, and a debut album built to be heard as a story.
What is on It Was Only a Dream?
The record follows two EPs, Skin to Skin (2024) and Surrender (2025), and the viral breakout told in our piece on how “Tonight (demo)” built her girl metal. Apple Music lists the sequence as follows.
| No. | Track |
|---|---|
| 1 | Breakdown |
| 2 | I don't want to fall in love |
| 3 | Wish you the best |
| 4 | Funeral |
| 5 | Erase me |
| 6 | Bruises |
| 7 | Enemy |
| 8 | Ugly |
| 9 | Tired |
| 10 | Oxygen |
| 11 | I want it all |
| 12 | Always, forever |
“Breakdown” was produced by Harry James Gilmour, who has worked with Bring Me The Horizon, and co-written by Elfeky, Gilmour, Sophia Brenan and Oscar Kenny of Mura Masa. Elfeky framed it to Clash as the start of something longer: “‘Breakdown’ is chapter 1 in the trilogy.” She said the song is “about wanting to change, but being too exhausted to take the first step.” No second chapter had been released as of October 20.

In the same statement she said the idea was “over a year in the making,” built “in complete solitude.”
What does Fort Worth tell us?
Texas Motor Speedway bills the day as the “inaugural Sick New World Texas music festival,” with System of a Down and Deftones headlining the infield and Slayer, Evanescence and The Prodigy among the names below them. For Elfeky, a festival crowd raised on nu-metal is a fair test for a single Clash called “a darkly enticing pop statement,” three weeks before fans hear the other 11 songs.
The stakes are real. The same press release says “Paradise” peaked at No. 10 on Billboard's rock charts and spent 11 weeks there, so the audience she built opening for heavier acts is waiting. If the show goes ahead as booked, October 24 is the first proof that the comeback is on. November 13 is the second.
