Arijit Singh's India Tour 2027, promoted by Team Innovation and ticketed only on thumpN, plays nine cities between January 9 and May 15, but only three of its venues are stadiums: Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi and Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.
That count comes from Amit Gurbaxani at Music Ally, who noted on October 15 that the tour was sold as a stadium tour. The announcement, carried by Deccan Chronicle on October 5, called it a “stadium-scale” tour with “multiple stadium presentations.” Both phrases are accurate. Neither one says every night is in a stadium, and most of them are not.
Where is Arijit Singh actually playing?
Mumbai gets the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Bengaluru gets the NICE Grounds, Indore the C21 Estate, Jaipur the JECC, an exhibition and convention centre that Music Ally describes as 850,000 square feet of grounds. Chandigarh and Pune had no venue as of October 2026, even though tickets for all nine cities were already on sale.

Dates and venues are as listed by Billboard India and WION on October 13, 2026.
Why does India keep building stadium tours without stadiums?
Because the demand outruns the buildings. The tour opens at Narendra Modi Stadium, where, per Music Ally, Singh will be only the third artist to stage a stand-alone concert, after Coldplay in January 2025 and Diljit Dosanjh, whose AURA India tour plays the stadium on November 21, 2026, according to Time Out India. Three headliners in roughly two years at the country's biggest venue tells you how rare a free stadium date is.
India's biggest stadiums are mostly sports grounds; Ahmedabad's is a cricket stadium. When a superstar tours, promoters turn to racecourses, exhibition grounds and estates that can hold a crowd but have to be fitted out for each show. Gurbaxani's conclusion is that India has immense demand for superstar concerts but lacks the permanent infrastructure to host them regularly and, crucially, cost-effectively. New large-capacity venues are said to be in the works in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Guwahati, he wrote, but until they open, everyone in the chain has to work around the gap.
In India right now, “stadium tour” describes a scale of show more than a kind of building.
That is the real story under the label. The production is designed for a stadium, with the announcement promising a multi-tiered stage, an extended runway and 360-degree spatial audio. The venue is whatever large, open, rentable space a city has.
What did fans pay, and what were they told?
Card pre-sales, first for Kotak Solitaire Visa holders and then for all Kotak Visa credit card holders, ran from October 10, a gated first window not unlike U2's subscriber presale in Mexico City, and general sale opened October 13 at 2pm. Billboard India listed general access from ₹1,249 in Ahmedabad and ₹1,499 in Delhi and Hyderabad up to ₹4,999 in Mumbai. More than 200,000 people had joined thumpN's Notify Me list before the sale, WION reported, a pre-registration wave that recalls RAYE's Royal Albert Hall sign-ups.
Some fans complained on social media, Music Ally reported, that the prices first shown were early-bird rates and were not labelled that way; later lots, released in phases, carry higher prices. Phased pricing is ordinary, and it is the same pressure on the cheap seats we tracked in this year's ticket price squeeze. Not telling buyers which phase they are in is what turns it into a grievance.
20 years of music is a journey I feel very grateful for.Arijit Singh, tour announcement via Deccan Chronicle
The tour marks two decades since Singh entered the business, and it is his first major live project since he said in January 2026 that he would no longer take new assignments as a playback singer, per Billboard India. The question for 2027 is whether the venues being planned in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Guwahati arrive in time for the next one to be a stadium tour in every city.
