Most artist bios move forward: bedroom, breakthrough, arena. Ella Boh's runs the other direction. She was a working songwriter with placements at Warner Bros. and Dim Mak before most listeners had heard her sing a note of her own, and by the time she finally stepped out as an artist in March 2025, the credits had already stacked up into something closer to a career than a debut.
Fifteen, YouTube, and a Session Room
The origin is small and specific. "I started the music industry as an artist, but I was 15 years old. I would put covers on YouTube and ended up in sessions... All throughout high school, I was just writing." The covers were never the point, they were the door. By 18 she had a Sofar Sounds bio listing placements at Warner Bros. and Dim Mak, a Perez Hilton co-sign, and spots on Apple Music's Alt A-List and Spotify's "Creamy" playlist, credentials that read like an A&R's shortlist rather than a teenager's side project.
Then the pandemic stopped the machine cold. By her own account, when it hit she didn't do any sessions for a year. It was her publisher who saw the pivot first, recognizing she could write great pitch songs and pushing her into the writer's room full time.
The Invisible Hitmaker
What followed is the part most fans never saw. The official "Ella Boh: The Songwriters" playlist on Apple Music runs 40 songs across nearly two hours, credits spanning Selena Gomez, Ben Böhmer, Jai Wolf, Dixie, Jutes, Rose Gray, Kailee Morgue, KiNG MALA and more. On Selena Gomez's "My Mind & Me" in November 2022, she's credited as songwriter and background vocalist alongside Jon Bellion, Amy Allen, Michael Pollack and The Monsters & Strangerz, whose Johnson brothers later made her the first-ever signing to Poems Publishing.
In April 2025 the Songwriters Hall of Fame made the quiet decade official, awarding her the Abe Olman Scholarship, selected by BMI, and summing up the arc in a single line.

She was writing hits for other artists years before she wrote one for herself.
When the Songs Started Sounding Like Hers
The transition back to artist wasn't a plan, it was an accumulation. "I just couldn't stop writing... Eventually, the songs started to sound like my songs." A quiet 2024 EP, things i can't feel, was the first sign, released with a simultaneous "2am mix" companion. The official run began March 7, 2025 with "a little bit," then moved fast: "babydoll" in April, the relationship-confirming Ari Abdul duet "out of order" on May 8, the debut EP milk & honey announced July 9, 2025, "No Fair" in August, the Ellise duet "DiE" in September, and "SERiAL KiLLER" for Halloween. She self-produced the entire first era alone, wanting it to feel the most like her, before bringing in Grammy-nominated producer Stint for the next chapter.
That milk & honey debut, released through Bamboo Artists, has since surpassed 20 million global streams, a number that would have sounded implausible to the 15-year-old posting covers, and arguably still undersells the two-track partnership she'd already built writing and producing for Ari Abdul in parallel.
2026: A Character Study, Then a Deluxe Tease
The monthly cadence never slowed. "iNSOMNiAC" landed January 23, "LLORONiTA" on February 20, "STARLET" on April 3, and the five-track BLURRY EP arrived April 24, 2026, five characters pulled from horror-movie logic and personal history. She described the shift in her own process plainly: "The biggest change is I've been focusing on my artistry and allowing myself to be an artist. It's a mindset shift." June brought the Henry Morris duet "My Girlfriend," and on July 7, 2026, she released "PRETTY BABY," a standalone single now teasing a BLURRY deluxe edition behind it.
The live side has scaled to match the catalog. Ella Boh has spent 2026 as direct support on Artemas's 38-date LOVERCORE / Getting Up To No Good tour alongside Henry Morris, a run that stretched from North American dates in February and March into European stops through November and December, including Cologne, Barcelona, Hamburg and two Berlin nights.
The A&R Logic, Run Backward
Most of pop's origin stories describe an A&R executive discovering a voice and building a machine around it. Ella Boh's version inverted the order: she built the machine first, forty songs deep in other people's discographies, a publishing deal, a Songwriters Hall of Fame scholarship, before anyone outside the room knew there was an artist underneath it. The cover-kid videos she posted at 15 didn't launch a career so much as fund the apprenticeship for one. What's left, a decade later, is a writer who happens to also be the artist, still producing her own records, still running the Discord where she tells fans to "do things" before the industry gets to decide for them, and still, by her own account, obsessed with the exact same thing that got her into a session room in the first place: taking the sounds in her head and making them real.
