Gram Parsons is getting a club-sized send-off before his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. “A Song for Gram,” an all-star tribute led by his old duet partner Emmylou Harris, will take place at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 11, 2026, three nights before Parsons is inducted on November 14, Variety and Rolling Stone reported on October 20, 2026.
The lineup
Alongside Harris, the bill includes Elvis Costello, the Black Crowes, Margo Price, the Head and the Heart, Grace Potter, Jesse Welles, Madison Cunningham, Jim Lauderdale, Harper Simon and Grahame Lesh. Longtime Los Angeles band Beachwood Sparks will serve as house band, billed on the poster as providing “cosmic accompaniment.” Variety noted that Costello helped introduce a new generation to Parsons by recording his songs in the early 1980s. Rolling Stone said the show's title plays on Parsons' 1973 song “A Song for You.”
The concert is co-produced by Parsons' daughter, Polly Parsons, Vector Management and Rolling Stone editor-in-chief Shirley Halperin, in conjunction with the Gram Parsons Estate and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, according to Variety. It benefits the Friendly House Foundation and Backline, two Los Angeles organizations that support people dealing with addiction and mental health needs.
Why the Troubadour
Some earlier tributes to Parsons played much bigger rooms. Polly Parsons told Variety that “it was really important for all of us that we do it somewhere legendary that resonated in the storyline of Gram, and Gram played the Troubadour quite a bit.” She said she hopes more shows follow, possibly in larger venues, and floated “maybe an anniversary show at the Santa Barbara Bowl again in a couple years.” The last major tribute she organized was the two-night “Return to Sin City” run in 2004 at the Universal Amphitheatre and the Santa Barbara Bowl, with artists including Keith Richards, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and Norah Jones.
She also told Variety she was glad that Harris, who could not make the 2004 shows, will be there: “This is such an incredible time to honor the music that they created together and to be able to share that in person.”
A birthday and an induction
The show lands in a tight window. Parsons, who died at 26, would have turned 80 on November 5, 2026. He will receive the Early Influence Award at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on November 14, alongside Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, according to Rolling Stone and Pollstar. Performer inductees in the 2026 class are Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan, Rolling Stone reported.
Tickets
Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific through AXS, Variety reported. Variety predicted demand will quickly outstrip supply, and Polly Parsons described it to Variety as a “you had to be there” affair.
