Bad Bunny, Slayer and Lana Del Rey Take the Mic on GTA VI's First Six Stations

Rockstar Games revealed six of Grand Theft Auto VI's radio stations on October 8, 2026, with hosts including Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, Burna Boy, Robyn and Slayer's Kerry King and Tom Araya, plus the series' first on-demand podcasts. The game is still dated November 19, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

No delay has followed. Rockstar repeated the date with its launch trailer on October 15, and as of October 18 no further stations had been announced. That leaves a large gap to fill: Rockstar says the full lineup spans “everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio,” and neither of those formats is among the six shown so far.

Which stations and songs has Rockstar shown?

Rockstar's post names the stations and host characters. The real voices come from The Fader and Kotaku; the songs are those The Fader heard in Rockstar's station previews.

Look at the dates on that list. Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr., Black Sabbath and Pantera are catalog, and catalog is already winning: songs over three years old took 45.1% of Spotify's global chart streams this year. A GTA station is the loudest catalog plug in the business.

What has a GTA placement done for old songs?

The trailers alone offer the cleanest numbers. After the first GTA VI trailer in December 2023, Tom Petty's “Love Is a Long Road,” a 1989 album track from Full Moon Fever, went from averaging 4,000 to 5,000 streams to close to 400,000 in the days that followed, and Spotify later reported a 37,000% jump in global streams. The second trailer gave the Pointer Sisters' 1986 track “Hot Together” a 182,000% spike, per GamesRadar.

Those percentages start from small bases, and a stream is not a royalty cheque. But the radio is a different scale of exposure from a three-minute trailer: players sit inside these stations for hours. GTA V's Radio Los Santos carried Ab-Soul's “ILLuminate” with Kendrick Lamar, and he described the effect plainly.

Why put stars behind the mic?

A host is a curator with a face. Fans who come for Bad Bunny can stay for Axel Rulay; Slayer's audience gets walked through decades of metal by two of the band's own members. Del Rey called it “super special and a privilege” in comments carried by Kotaku, and RaiNao said it “feels incredibly special to lend my voice” to the game. Wallen also has a single, “Last Thing You Need,” on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the album of 34 original tracks Rockstar has set for the same day.

The trailers moved old songs in three minutes. The radio gets hours.

What do the podcasts change?

Rockstar says the on-demand podcasts are a series first, made for protagonists Jason and Lucia to experience, and that both radio and podcasts now play on foot through in-game headphones and earbuds linked to their phones. Music Ally put it simply: “even GTA is not impervious to the relentless spread of podcasting.”

The open question is the rest of the dial. Classic rock and talk radio are promised and still unannounced, and every station Rockstar names before November 19 is another round of placements. It is the mirror image of the fights over unlicensed songs in brand posts: a cleared record, put where millions of players will hear it on a loop.
