Iron Maiden were supposed to take 2027 off. Instead, the band announced on October 16, 2026 that it will return to North America next spring for 16 more shows, a third and final leg of its 50th anniversary Run For Your Lives tour that opens April 14 at the Tacoma Dome and ends with festival headline sets at Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock.
Why the break got cancelled
“As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027, but we've been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed, particularly the North West and South East,” bassist Steve Harris said in the announcement. He added that the band wanted to try a couple more U.S. festivals, because “at festivals you are not just playing to your own fans so it's always a challenge.”
Manager Rod Smallwood said the band played to more people per show than ever before on the 2026 leg and headlined its first U.S. stadium shows, despite what he called “an almost total lack of mainstream radio support and never even having a track reach the Billboard Hot 100.” By the time it ends, the tour will have played 107 shows to well over 3 million fans in 36 countries, according to the announcement. The 2027 dates mix indoor and outdoor venues, and the band says it will bring its full production to every show, along with its Eddie's Dive Bars fan meetups.
The dates
April 2027: Tacoma Dome (April 14), Vancouver's Rogers Arena (16), Portland's Moda Center (18), Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, California (20), North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista (22), Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino (24), Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix (26) and Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas (28).
May 2027: Benchmark International Arena in Tampa (May 1), iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach (2), Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta (5), Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh (7), The Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford (9), UBS Arena at Belmont Park, New York (11), Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio (14) and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland (16).
Bullet for My Valentine, whose album Social Apocalypse is due March 19, 2027, and The Raven Age will open the headline shows. The band says it has not chosen an all-British three-band bill since 1983.
How to get tickets
The Iron Maiden Fan Club presale starts Monday, October 19 at 10 a.m. local time, with more presales during the week and the general onsale on Friday, October 23 at 10 a.m. local. A VIP package with a seated ticket, access to the band's TROOPER pre-show party and exclusive merch is also on offer, with details at vipnation.com. TicketNews noted that Maiden ruled out dynamic pricing for its original 2025 dates, but the new announcement does not say whether that policy carries over.
The two festival shows sell separately. Danny Wimmer Presents confirmed Maiden as the first headliner for Sonic Temple, which runs May 13 to 16 at Historic Crew Stadium, with Maiden on Friday, May 14. As of October 16, TicketNews reported, Friday-only passes were listed at $165 for stadium general admission and $265 for field general admission, fees included, with the full lineup of nearly 150 bands due the following week. Organizers say the sold-out 2026 edition drew more than 184,000 people over four days.
It is one more big 2027 run, announced in the same week as U2's first stadium tour since 2019 and shortly after The Interrupters' 2027 dates, so fans planning a spring of shows should mark the October 19 and October 23 sale times now.
