Sombr Brings Lindsey Buckingham and Jesse Rutherford to the Kia Forum

Sombr brought out Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac to sing “Go Your Own Way” at his sold-out Kia Forum show in Inglewood on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after first welcoming Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood for “Sweater Weather.” Earlier that day he released “Homewrecker (Reimagined Live From Sound City)” with Nickel Creek.

One night, two guests, one stripped-down single. Read together, they look less like a run of surprises and more like a young arena headliner telling Los Angeles exactly where he comes from.

What happened at the Kia Forum?

Seven songs into the set, Sombr told the crowd he was bringing out “somebody very special,” Paste reported. That turned out to be Rutherford, who sang his band's signature song with him. A few songs later came the bigger reveal. Introducing his second guest, Sombr called him “someone I look up to so much,” according to Rolling Stone.

Buckingham and Sombr split lead vocals on the Rumours standard, Jambands reported. The Forum's own TikTok account posted the moment.

Why Lindsey Buckingham, and why now?

The co-sign was months in the making. In April, Buckingham said in a video, as quoted by Stereogum, “I love Sombr. I think he's extremely talented, especially for being only 20 years old.” In August he presented Sombr with the Songwriter of the Year award at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event. The October 10 show moved that endorsement from a video and an awards podium to a stage in front of a full arena.

The Rutherford spot completes the picture. “Sweater Weather” is a 2012 alternative song that TikTok turned into a streaming-era standard, and it belongs to the same audience that found Sombr online. Stereogum called Rutherford Sombr's “spiritual forebear.” Put a 1970s rock songwriter and a 2010s alt-pop frontman on the same bill and you have a fair map of his sound: classic-rock melody, internet-native mood.

The elders stopped praising Sombr from a distance. On October 10 they walked onstage.

What does the Nickel Creek “Homewrecker” add?

The reimagined “Homewrecker,” posted to Sombr's own YouTube channel, strips the single back to a live ensemble recorded at Sound City in Los Angeles: Nickel Creek (Chris Thile, Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins) with Sebastian Steinberg, Abe Rounds, Elle Bramhall and Anya True, per the release announcement. It is a test of the songwriting with the production removed, and it arrives with a track record. According to that announcement, the original “Homewrecker,” written and produced by Sombr, was his fifth Billboard Global 200 entry and fourth on the Hot 100, reached No. 1 at pop radio and gave him his biggest first-week debut.

Where does the tour go from here?

The Forum was one stop on the You Are the Reason Tour, his first arena run. Rolling Stone reports the North American leg ends in late November with two Madison Square Garden nights, followed by four Jingle Ball appearances in December, Mexico and South America in January 2027, then Australia and Europe, with the run currently ending July 17, 2027 at Lollapalooza Berlin. London alone needed five nights.

In March he shares a Bogotá headline bill with The Neighbourhood, so the Forum duet may not be the last time those two names sit side by side. For now, the Forum night says something plain about pop in 2026: a breakout who arrived through phones can still earn the old guard's blessing in person, and he can make the case with a bluegrass band.
