Nearly five years after their last Vancouver show, The Neighbourhood filled Rogers Arena on October 8 with The Wourld Tour, V13 Media reports. Next comes the US arena run with Nessa Barrett, which opens November 10 in Atlanta and closes December 4 at the Kia Forum.
The Vancouver show
According to V13, the band's previous Vancouver date was on the Hard to Imagine Tour on October 9, 2021. Pop duo After opened, playing songs including "Take Me to Sunrise," "Blind" and "300 Dreams."
Before the band came on, the crowd heard an AI-style voice called Iris, which V13 says announced it was there to observe everyone and repeated "Vancouver, I love you" between songs. The set opened with "Hula Girl" and "Prey." Mid-show, after "Devil's Advocate," Iris told the crowd it was the perfect time for a bathroom break, and the band returned within two minutes for "Baby Came Home 2."
Before "Private," from their latest project Ultrasound, the singer asked fans to sing the hook as loud as possible and beat Toronto. The night closed with "Sweater Weather" and "Softcore."
The US arena run
Warner Records says Nessa Barrett, who played the EU and UK leg of The Wourld Tour and performed several songs from her new album Tough Love there, rejoins for the US arena dates. The run picks up November 10 at Atlanta's State Farm Arena and wraps December 4 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
Tough Love, Nessa's third album, came out September 25 on Warner Records. It reunites her with collaborators CJ Baran and Arthur Besna, and Warner says it draws on influences from Massive Attack and Portishead to Alice in Chains and Fleetwood Mac.
Why it matters
The Neighbourhood helped write the template for a lot of today's dark-pop, and "Sweater Weather" is still the closer. Pairing them with Nessa Barrett in arenas puts two generations of the same mood on one bill, and fans in the US get it starting next month.
