Tyler, the Creator's GOLF Logo Takes Barça's Clásico Shirt, and a €499.99 Price Tag

Tyler, the Creator's GOLF logo will replace Spotify's on the front of FC Barcelona's shirt when the men's team hosts Real Madrid in El Clásico on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Spotify Camp Nou. Barça Femení wears it first, on October 24. The club is selling 1,899 matchday-quality copies at €499.99 each.

Tyler is the ninth act in the series Spotify started with Drake in 2022, and the first, Spotify says, to get full creative control. That stretches past the crest: a Tyler-directed short, a Spotify x GOLF WANG x FC Barcelona clothing line, and a night called Copa De Golf in Barcelona on October 24. Yung Taco headlines with a DJ set, backed by Bexnil, Alu, duna and Mushkaa, local emerging acts. (Music Ally's first report put the event on October 23; Spotify's and the club's own announcements both say the 24th.)

Who wore the shirt before Tyler?

Spotify and FC Barcelona announced every takeover below, and the club lists all eight artists Tyler follows.

The format has grown each time. Drake's shirts went to fans in a giveaway. By Rosalía, the club was selling 1,899 matchday-quality shirts, a nod to its 1899 founding, and that number has stuck. Travis Scott added a concert the night before. Olivia Rodrigo brought Billions Club Live to Barcelona on May 8. Tyler adds a design brand that already has its own stores, in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Sydney and London.

Why does a streaming service pay for a football shirt?

Spotify signed on in March 2022: its name on the front of the men's and women's shirts for four seasons from 2022/23, plus the stadium name. Neither side disclosed the money. Reuters, citing the Catalan station Rac1, reported the deal at 280 million euros. In October 2025 the two extended through 2030, with front-of-training-kit branding, and Spotify said the Camp Nou naming rights run through 2034.

The bet was stated plainly at the launch. “Barça's games attract a huge, global viewership per season and we're looking forward to working with them to connect artists to this audience,” Spotify's Alex Norström told the company's For the Record blog in 2022. In other words, the chest of the shirt is ad space Spotify already pays for, and twice a season it hands that space to an artist. The streamer gets a news story the logo alone never earns. The artist gets a slot that is not for sale on the open market.

Spotify already pays for the front of the Barça shirt. Twice a season, it gives that space to an artist and turns a logo into a story.

What does a matchday merch drop actually do?

It turns ninety minutes into a product with a sell-by date. The German site 90min reports Barça is charging €499.99 for the 1,899-copy match version, 100 euros more than the €399.99 Rolling Stones version cost in 2023. The 22 shirts signed by the starters of both matches and the 11 signed by Tyler cost €2,999.99 each, per 90min. On top of that comes a whole collection: a letterman jacket, track jacket, retro jerseys, a leopard-print set, socks, a beanie and a scarf. It went on sale October 15, ten days before kickoff, at Barça Official Stores, golfwang.com, GOLF's own shops and select Nike stores.

For an artist, that is the real prize. A shirt worn once becomes a collectible with a fixed print run and a date stitched to it, and the scarcity is the point. It is the same logic behind Spotify's push toward superfan experiences: the money lives with the fans who want proof they were there. And as Chance the Rapper's fight over his ex-manager's merch fees showed, merch money is worth fighting over. With his own brand on the clothes and full creative control of the campaign, Tyler has more of a hand in this drop than any artist in the series before him.

The kit also shows up in KONAMI eFootball, and FC Barcelona's commercial vice president Joan Soler called the series “part of the anticipation surrounding this match.” The next test is October 25, when the GOLF shirt meets Real Madrid at home.
