Glasgow, Manchester, London: Julia Alexa Brings 100 Million Streams to Three UK Nights

Julia Alexa, the Zürich singer, songwriter and self-taught producer with more than 100 million Spotify streams, plays three UK nights this week as support on Christian Gates' I Believe In Ghosts Tour: Glasgow's Classic Grand on Tuesday, October 13, Manchester's Deaf Institute on Wednesday, October 14, and The Garage in London on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Those three rooms close out a five-night run. Her own tour page on The Ring VIP lists Berlin's Prachtwerk on October 6 and Paris's Petit Bain on October 11 before the British stretch, and the headliner's VIP page carries the same venues on the same dates. Two are behind her. Three are left, on three consecutive nights.

Who is Julia Alexa?

Her legal name is Julia Alexandra Mueller, and her October 2023 press kit describes her as an independent artist from Zug and Zürich who studied pharmaceutical sciences at ETH Zürich. She started writing, producing and releasing her own songs in 2019, and in 2020 she found her footing by working with producers in the online lofi community. In September 2024 she told Zürich's Stadt-Anzeiger she was heading to Los Angeles to write a master's thesis in cancer immunology research at UCLA, a double life The Ring has covered in its piece on her lab-and-studio split.

Her debut album, i want to live forever when i die, came out on November 10, 2023, and the press kit says its songs were written and recorded alone in her bedroom. Her first headline show followed in Zürich two weeks later. The ten-song bandaids arrived in summer 2024. As of October 2026, Apple Music lists her latest release as time of death, a three-song single dated September 18, 2026.

That number carries a side business too. Black Octopus Sound, the company behind the interview, also released her vocal sample pack, covered in our look at Dark Angelic Vocals.

Why is a Swiss artist's audience somewhere else?

Swiss public radio framed the paradox before her debut album came out. On November 8, 2023, SRF 3 introduced her by noting that her songs are streamed millions of times while hardly anyone knows her name. A December 2024 starzone.ch feature called her a small star of the worldwide streaming world who can still sit relaxed in a café at home without being recognized.

She sings almost entirely in English, which is how a catalog made in a Zürich bedroom travels: the streams arrive from everywhere, while the face stays unknown at home.

Her run opened in Berlin, the city at the top of her listener map.

Why does she fit this bill?

Sound first. In the same 2024 interview she said her new Los Angeles material was moving toward alternative, rock music or dark pop, away from the sad-girl sound of her early records. The 2025 singles that followed wore it in their titles: BLOODY HANDS, HEAVENSENT, VAMPIRE. That is the register she brings to a support slot on a tour named for ghosts.

Then the rooms. Classic Grand, Deaf Institute and The Garage are small club venues, the scale where an opener with a streaming audience and a thin live record gets heard properly. Her live career only began in summer 2023, at Bern's Gurtenfestival, so a UK week in front of a headliner's crowd is a real step for her.

What happens after London?

The Garage on October 15 is the last date on her page, and the last date of the I Believe In Ghosts Tour. For UK listeners who know her only from a playlist, these are the three nights to put a face to the voice. Her full background, from the lofi years to the gothic singles, is on her wiki page.
