Rosario's Music Gol Festival Billed Red Hot Chili Peppers for June 12, 2027. The Band Replied: "Sorry, Not Us"

Music Gol Festival was announced on October 13, 2026 for June 12, 2027 at Rosario Central's Estadio Gigante de Arroyito in Argentina, with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Human League and Happy Mondays on the bill. The band answered with a comment from its official account on the announcement post: “Sorry, not us.” The acts’ agents told IQ the next day they had no knowledge of the bookings, and the lineup was deleted.

The promoter named on the poster was Underdog Entertainment, which IQ Magazine described as “seemingly brand-new,” though La Capital and Rosario3, the latter citing its founding partner’s LinkedIn profile, reported that the company was created in 2018 and is based in Buenos Aires. Banco Macro was to finance a presale on its cards from Thursday, October 15, with Entrada Uno as the ticketer. The bank pulled its card offer before the presale, and Letra P reported on October 15 that ticket sales were suspended. Underdog did not respond to IQ’s request for comment, and as of October 20, 2026 it had posted no public explanation that we could find.

How does a stadium festival get announced with headliners who never signed?

By borrowing credibility from everyone around it. Letra P reported that the club's general manager, Javier Solá, signed a stadium rental and asked for a US$100,000 deposit, half the rent, and that the promoter made the deal conditional on the club posting the announcement and lineup on its own social accounts. Rosario Central posted the announcement on its own accounts, and the bank and the ticketer appeared on the poster, so fans saw three trusted names next to a fourth few had heard of.

US$100K
Deposit Rosario Central received · half the agreed stadium rent, per Letra P and the club’s general manager

Solá told local radio the club had rented the ground without knowing who would headline, citing confidentiality the promoter claimed. “We are not organizers, we only give them temporary use of the stadium,” he said, in our translation of his Radio Boing remarks quoted by Ámbito. The case went to the club's legal department. He added that the contract was signed with a company incorporated in Spain that has a commercial representative in Argentina and, he said, a record of staging events in Spain.

Cosquín Rock producer José Palazzo shared the poster with “Totalmente falso” (totally false). Happy Mondays manager Alan McGee answered “It's not true” to music journalist Joaquín Vismara, according to a screenshot Vismara shared, as Ámbito reported. La Capital noted the Chili Peppers were recording a new album, had no tour announced, and that a June date falls in the Northern Hemisphere’s summer festival season.

A rental contract is not a booking. A club logo on a poster is not an artist's signature.

Banco Macro's statement said organizing the event, confirming the artists and delivering the program were the responsibility of the organizer and its production company. The club told La Capital it had taken down its post “por las dudas,” just in case, and that the festival would have been the first non-sporting event under the current management.

Did anyone buy tickets, and what can fans do?

None of the reports we read said tickets were sold: the bank pulled out before the presale and sales were suspended. If you paid anyone for a Music Gol ticket or a “reservation,” keep the receipt and ask your card issuer about a dispute right away, since dispute windows are limited. For a real show whose ticket never arrives, our explainer on stuck Ticketmaster transfers covers the next steps.

Before buying for any festival with a surprising lineup, run four checks:

The Chili Peppers were in the news this month for something real: a benefit set at the Silverlake Conservatory, covered in our report on its rare songs. Rosario Central is left holding a deposit and a legal question. The lesson for venues is the one Hypebot drew: nothing between a press release and a stadium date checks the lineup.
