Sam Fender is going back to stadiums in the summer of 2027, and this time London gets two nights at Wembley. The North Shields singer has announced the Proper Massive Stadium Tour, Pollstar reported on October 21, 2026, a run of UK and Irish dates that opens with two hometown shows at Newcastle's St. James' Park and includes what Pollstar and NME both describe as the biggest headline shows of his career, at Wembley Stadium on June 18 and June 20.
The dates
According to the itinerary published by Pollstar and NME, the tour starts at St. James' Park on June 3 and June 5, then moves to Cardiff's Principality Stadium on June 10 before the two Wembley nights. In July, Fender plays Dublin's Marlay Park on July 1, headlines Rock Werchter in Belgium on July 3, plays Edinburgh's Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on July 8, and closes with two nights at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on July 15 and July 17. Pollstar notes the Rock Werchter slot is his first headline set at a European festival. British alt-rock band Wunderhorse supports on every UK stadium date.
The shows are promoted by Kilimanjaro Live, SJM Concerts and Communion One in the UK, with DF Concerts in Scotland and MCD in Ireland, Pollstar reported.
How to get tickets
General sale opens at 9:30am on Friday, October 30, 2026, NME reported. Fans who pre-order Fender's fourth album before 9am on Monday, October 26 receive a presale code for a presale that opens at 9:30am on Wednesday, October 28. Newcastle United has its own early allocation for season ticket holders and Mags Members, starting at 9:30am on October 29; new members must sign up by 5pm on October 27 to qualify, the club said. Details of the new album, including its title and release date, have not been announced, according to NME.
A homecoming that keeps getting bigger
The two Newcastle dates will be Fender's sixth and seventh shows at St. James' Park, after two in 2023 and three in 2025, Pollstar said. Box office reports submitted to Pollstar show the three June 2025 shows moved 150,041 tickets for a $14,643,784 gross. Newcastle United chief operating officer Brad Miller said the homecoming shows “attracted more than 150,000 people to Newcastle city centre last year, providing a significant boost to neighbouring businesses.” The club put the stadium's capacity at 52,000.
The announcement caps a big stretch for Fender's third album, People Watching, which won the 2025 Mercury Prize. Pollstar reported that its Olivia Dean duet “Rein Me In” became the longest running number one single in British history in 2026 and won the BRIT Award for Song of the Year, and Fender also took the Ivor Novello award for Songwriter of the Year. He did not play headline shows or release new music in 2026, NME noted, after saying in 2025 that he planned to rest his voice before making another album.
NME also pointed out that the schedule leaves a gap around Glastonbury Festival, which runs June 23 to 27, 2027. No Glastonbury 2027 performers have been officially announced, NME said.
