More than 320,000 creators entered TikTok LIVE's Music on Stage competition this year, 13 times the number who entered in 2025, according to TikTok. On October 2 it named Mexico's JUDÁ and Thailand's PJung its global champions, and the top six finishers will release EPs through SoundOn, TikTok's distribution and artist services platform.
The winners
JUDÁ won the EMEA and Americas Global Final, hosted by Cat Burns, ahead of Mexico's Anyelique Solorio and Las Hermanas Machado, a Cuban sister trio based in the US. PJung won the APAC final ahead of Japan's AYANE and Indonesia's Faz Gading. TikTok says this year's Global Finals drew a combined 3.9 million viewers, up 279% year on year.
JUDÁ has more than 800,000 followers and is known for daily LIVE streams and vocal covers. PJung is a Thai singer and actor who also performs with the band Jennary.
What winning actually gets you
The prize is not a viral moment. It is a SoundOn deal to release an EP with support across production, distribution and promotion. TikTok pointed to last year's champion, Anyelique Solorio, as proof of concept: after winning in 2025 she released the EP No Tengo Duda through SoundOn and performed at TikTok LIVE Fest in Las Vegas. TikTok says the EP inspired more than 305,000 video creations and helped drive an 800% increase in her Spotify monthly listeners. She came back this year and finished second.
Shen Gao, TikTok's Head of LIVE Operations in the Americas, said the goal is to help winners "turn the communities they have built into lasting music careers."
Why it matters to this scene
The Ring covers a lot of artists whose careers started with a phone and an audience on TikTok, Christian Gates among them. Music on Stage is TikTok trying to turn that accident into a pipeline, from live streams to releases to physical stages. Whether a competition can do what organic fandom does is an open question, but the numbers say plenty of artists want to find out.
