BTS Take Over Singapore for All of December, With Light Shows, Fireworks and a Sentosa Rave Around Four Sold-Out Nights

BTS have four sold-out nights in Singapore this December, and the city is planning a full month of fan events around them. On October 19, 2026, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and HYBE announced that BTS The City Arirang, HYBE's citywide fan experience, will run across the island from December 1 to 31, 2026, building up to the group's sold-out National Stadium shows on December 17, 19, 20 and 22.

Southeast Asia's only stop

The City Arirang runs alongside the BTS World Tour Arirang and is designed to stretch the concert experience across a host city with themed events and branded installations. It began in Seoul in March 2026 and has since been staged in just four other cities, Las Vegas, Busan, London and New York. Singapore is the first and only stop in Southeast Asia, and STB calls it the largest island-wide fan activation ever held in Singapore for any recording artist. IQ Magazine reports that it will be the final stop of The City Arirang this year, and that the four concerts are expected to draw more than 200,000 people.

What's planned

According to STB, the highlights include:

From December 8 to 22, 2026, landmarks around Marina Bay and the Singapore River will light up each night in “ARIRANG red,” including the Helix Bridge, Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and several river bridges. The Straits Times reports that every ticket for the Singapore concerts, which went on sale in phases from June 3 to 5, 2026, has sold out, and that BTS last performed in Singapore as a full group seven years ago.

“This is the largest city-wide destination project we have collaborated on with a partner for any recording artist,” said Oliver Chong, STB's assistant chief executive for its international group, adding that hosting the Southeast Asian debut is “a testament to our ability to attract some of the world's most iconic IPs.”

Why cities want it

HYBE Music Group APAC president Brandon Yu told IQ Magazine that partnership talks usually start six months to a year ahead, and that The City projects draw a very high share of overseas visitors. He said about 73% of visitors to the Sungnyemun Gate activation in Seoul came from abroad, as did about 83% of visitors to the ARMY Madang pop-up in Busan, and that The City Arirang Busan drew about 200,000 visitors. He also said the Las Vegas edition generated an estimated $340 million in economic impact. The aim, Yu said, is that fans “perceive this not as a performance or concert event, but as a cultural experience.”
