The Dutch Melrose Collaboration Map

For an artist with such a defined solo world, Dutch Melrose is unusually generous with the mic. His catalog is dotted with collaborations that map out a whole scene around him.

The inner circle

His most frequent partner is benny mayne, on RUSH, Pretty Please and Match Made in Hell. He has also co-billed with PRETTY HAVØC on the Mirror Mirror EP, and worked with names like Paris Petitjean and Lost Boy across the years, most of it under his own MADKID Records.

A scene, not a solo act

The pattern says something about how Dutch works. Rather than guard his world, he keeps opening it up to labelmates and peers, which is how a small imprint becomes a recognizable collective. Each collaboration also cross-pollinates audiences, one artist’s fans discovering another’s, a quietly effective growth strategy for an independent operation.

Across the aisle

The most notable outside collaboration runs through The Ring: Dutch wrote and sang the second verse of Christian Gates’ TOXIC, a verse Gates says saved the song, and the two later co-headlined in Los Angeles. That one reached beyond his usual circle and helped define a real partnership.

A solo artist who keeps very good company.

The deep cuts

Two entries collectors love: “Souvenir” (2021), where he featured on a Whales track for Monstercat, still his only appearance on a major EDM label; and “alright” (2019) with San Diego producer Rad Cat, one of his earliest collaborators and now a labelmate on MADKID Records.
